I took just a couple of minutes to research this on the web, and it appears that there are loads of marble-collectors out there. There are also publications. I found a Yahoo group that you might consider joining, so that you can get information from collectors about groups in your area, or reputable appraisers.

If you live in southern california, i would suggest that you can take them to the antique row in pomona but if you are not in cali, try your local antique stores. better yet if you received anythign else from your dad you can always open up your own booth at an antqiue mall as well.

Keep them. My dad was a carpenter. I have his tools, in my garage. He died 20 years ago and I still have them.
