I'm thinking about running for congress in the long run. I want to know what are some ways to just run a campaign get volunteers, hire managers, get votes, advertise my name, and fundraise. Any help would be nice, although I have done plenty of research I just want your opinion.

If you just want to run, then go 4 it, but if you want to WIN, you need to do your homework
1. What ever the majority party is in your district, you must run on that ticket, old timers will vote straight ticket every time
2.study the last 4 elections in your district to see what the winners done to win, was it their platform, personality, their history and reputation
3.figure out a platform and study the pro's and con's to it, know all the answers to any question that may arise when your out and about
4. make contact EARLY to local power people, these are usually bank presidents or chairmen and meet with local political party heads , it is of the utmost importance that you get to these first, to get their support
5.if your under 30 years of age, subtract 30% for your chance to win
6.before placing any pictures of you on cards, etc. , let them checked by people of all ages to see which one you should use, remember pay close attention to the 30 and up crowd, they vote all the time
7.an old trick used by a guy in the next county, was to place his name every where about 2 years before the election, he placed NO adds, just his name, then he announced he was running for an office and WON,because of NAME recognition
8. get with all the preachers you can in your district, go to their churches, don't do anything politicial, just be seen, greet the people as they leave,FACE RECOGNITION
9.go to the factories, what's left of them and meet the workers as they change shifts. you may need to get with the local big shots, that have already met to pull this off, but it can be done
10.get local politicians on your side, county judges, city mayors, etc.
11. have a sense of humor
12.Don't run against a seasoned pro, the first time out, wait until the time is right and jump in with bothfeet
13. GOOD LUCK

Get in touch with the party you would like to run for. They will help you from there.

If you need my opinion, you shouldn't be running for congress.

How about choosing me as best answer? I need the points.
