like Bill Clinton did when he pushed 8 out of 10 of the "Contract With America" points from The Newt, ecentually throwing his own liberal constituitents under the wheels of the bus?

Bill did not compromise. He lead the way aginst his base and inacted good conservitave ideas. But sense things worked out well (they always do when you stick to conservitave ideals) the dems went along with him. Clintons good accomplishments were not liberal ideas. They were conservitave.

A few democrats forced to act conservitave is what got them congress. Not thier stated agend. On thier stated agenda alone, they would still be on the bottom where they belong.

I think the best thing that could of happen to the Republicans is the Libs winning last November. They're going to show their true colors. They're already trying to cater to the Conservatives. They had to run a bunch of Conservative Democrats to even win last November.

What? Is this some kind of weird who's buried in Grant's tomb question? I have never seen a more despised Democratic President by the Republicans than Clinton and now it appears he is being praised. What gives? If you are asking will the Democrats become Republicans, the answer is no. If you are asking will the Democrats be more centrist, yes.

why is trying to "work with others" viewed as "throwing his own constituents under the bus"?

this is the problem with Republicans... they view compromise as weakness...

but what happens when you don't compromise... EVERYONE DISLIKES YOU... because you act like a spoiled child that has to have his way... and no other way

and in a democracy... you lose...

Clinton compromised... some of today's Republicans don't care about America and compromising for what is best, only their own agenda... and that is why they lost, and if they don't change, will continue to lose...

There is far too much hope (and relief). Unfortunately, the "do nothing" 109th rubber stamp congress did very little for the American people.

They are taking on the conservative ideas of low government spending pal... much more than your so-called "conservative" President...

A vote for conservatives is a vote for Democrats in 2008. period.

Their "stated course" is what got them recently elected!!

Conservative ideas have bear worm ridden fruit as of late.
