I have a silk tie and there is a gray line about 1 INCH in my tie. i have tried IRONING/ WASHING it and steaming it when i take a shower.

WHAT is it and what can i do? HELP?


the gray line is not suppose to be in my yellow tie

i think it is a COLORED string part of the tie but it was not there yesterday..

this is my fav. tie

Just throw it out and get a new one because it is driving you nuts. It's probably a seem or a snag.

You do not say if the line is material, colored string in the tie, or the result of an accident.
If the latter, get a magic marker of the same color and decorate around it. I doubt that you will ever get an ingrained food stain, especially one with grease, out of the tie. Learn to live with it.+

If you've already washed it, steamed it, ironing it, etc. it likely will not come out. Sorry. Silk is fragile to begin with; since you don't mention how it got there I would suggest tossing it.
