I want to get another ear piercing on the tip of my ear, but I don't know what the piercings stand for. Some people get it on the left, some on the right, and some both. All I know is that some mean sexual preferences.

Ask the peircing shop they will know. But usually people get it on the side they DONT sleep on thats even smarter than sexual preference.

My mom always told me that everytime I went for a new piercing. She always said that an extra piercing in your right ear symbolizes someone is gay, an extra piercing in the left ear symbolizes your straight and for a guy, if you have it in both your ears you're bisexual. But if you want some advice, do whatever you want because nobody really listens to that anymore and most people don't even know about it anymore either. Do whatever you feel like and whatever you think looks good. :D

They don't mean anything anymore, and haven't for some time. It got confusing years ago and nobody knows anymore. Whatever you do may be misinterpreted when you visit another area or region (because it changes depending on the people of a location), so do what you want, it's not going to matter.
Tell anybody you want that they're wrong, you read it on the Internet.

no one really thinks about that kind of thing when they see you. get what you want. I have lots of piercings and i doubt people assume i'm gay or straight because of them.
That's an old tradition, normally use for gay men when it was less socially acceptable to wear a piece of jewlery or hankerchief etc on a certain side of the body. But it is basically null and void.
Most boys/girls who see you are not going to say oh she has a peircing on her left ear she must be GAY!!! they might not evne notice because your hair will cover it.
and if they do so what? they're just being shallow.

the best asnwer u can get would be from someone at the piercing place, they should know. but most grls i know with a piercing at the tip of the ear get it on the right and they're all straight.

most girls get the piercing on the top of their right ear... i don't think it really means anything, just that most people prefer getting the piercing done on the right.

I don't know about any sexual preferences w/ piercings. Just get it on the side you like or both.

i got my ear pierced on top and i got it on the right side just because i like it on the right insted of the left. i didn't really think of sexual prefferences
