The average daytime temperature on the moon would be hotter than the hottest day in Death Valley, NV and colder than the coldest night in Antarctica during the moon's night. The moon is relatively the same distance to the sun as the earth. The only difference is lack of atmosphere.

actually, i think there is NO temperature on the moon because the moon is a gravitational pull towards the center of our universe, which is the sun. I think the only reason that astronauts where space suits is so that they don't become exposed to the harmful radiation of the sun and the harmful chemicals, also because the universe is pure oxygen, and our lungs would blow up if we sucked in the air. That's all.

Since there is no atmosphere the temperature is measured at the surface or on an object. It will range from unbearably hot in the sun and unbearably cold in the shade.
