I have a happy and successful relationship. But I'm away from home a lot and I have to work with some very beautiful women. Some of them I even have to kiss. Sounds like hell I know :)

However, this has taken it's toll on several relationships before my present one and is doing so again.

I have a high sex drive and my present girlfriend doesn't.

This is all causing problems.

I have had the opportunity to have an affair and turned it down, though I'm still wondering if I did the right thing.

Am I the wrong sort of person to be in a relationship? If any relationship I'm in is going to be under the same stresses do I have a hope in hell of actually remaining faithful and happy (which are not the same things) in one.

Should I have an affair? Would that solve my high sex drive and allow me to keep my present relationship?

Comments and suggestions please. Helpful ones would be nice and don't just have a go at me. That never helps anyone.

:)

It seems like your girlfriend is bored more than you are. I suggest changing it up to something more romantic or sponteanously. Whenever I was going in this "rut" with my boyfriend, he surprise me with some new positions and it restarted my engine for me. I felt so turned on to him.
I wouldn't recommend having an affair. Yes it would cure your sex drive, but it would leave you feeling guilty and unsolved. No one is the wrong person to be in a relationship. It just takes the right person to be with. I have cheated on all of my other boyfriends even this one. But the last time I cheated it made me realize how stupid it was. I would run around for weeks feeling guilty about it, until the guy Im dating found out. Then I felt even worse hurting the person you love.

You have already made a decision that your relationship is more important than a quick shag. If you think your relationship is right, it's worth working on together.
Having an affair might solve your short term problems of having a high sex drive, but how would your girlfriend feel knowing you have done this? Can you really keep up that sort of duplicity? Even if she finds out and forgives you, every time you are away from home in the future, she will wonder what you are doing. Nothing is worth losing that trust.
