Yes, it is possible.
Foreplay can result in increased blood supply to certain parts of the body including nipple.
If together with that there was physical massaging of the nipple, an excited part of the body with increased blood circulation and increased physical manipulation can lead to some residual pain.
That said, do BSE (breast self examination) and rule out any other pathology or problem. Google for good sites to help you learn about how you do BSE.
Hopefully, you have nothing to worry about.

I have never heard of that, but it could be from the nipple being 'roughed' up a little bit, or just stimulation feelings in the nipple.

yes especially if he continually sucks on the nipple,they will be sore for only awhile,it does bother.so putting a warm cloth around both areas will help.good luck
