My husband went and filed for divorce this morning. We have been married a little over a year and have a 4 yr. old son together. I have been a stay at home since my son was first born. This divorce decision came out of no where a few days ago. I am lost, hurt, concerned, scared, everything. How do I begin to pick up what is left of my life and move forward? Where do I start? Help!!!

The first thing that you need to keep in mind is that your first priority is to take care of yourself and your son. There is life after divorce, and if it helps to know it, you aren't the first to go through it and you aren't the only one to deal with the aftermaths of it. If you didn't have any idea that it was coming, then maybe you should talk to your husband about what is happening. You will have to go through reconcilliation counseling in order to get a divorce, so that would be a great time to bring up all the questions you have for him. Also, don't downgrade him or his decisions infront of your child, it will only cause resentment later in his life. You will want to make him feel like he is the most important thing you two had together and that he was conceived out of love. If you need to talk, you can find me on yahoo anytime.

Just out of the blue after one year of marriage you decide to divorce and file a few days later?

Quite honestly - stop trying to "move" forward when it sounds like you haven't even stopped to look at where you are. Is this something you both want? Do you even know why you are divorcing?

Stop and assess the the situation where you stand instead of trying to figure out how to "move forward".

Babe I am so sorry...Your first priority is you son. You may have to move back with your parents or family or maybe a close friend for a bit until you get on your feet and find a job and what not. Go to monster.com or Yahoo hot jobs they make it really easy to find a job. Maybe you could go back to school and get a kick a*ss job and smear it in your exs face. Men are scum. If you need to talk email me amandawillma@yahoo.com

..I may be an odd ball, but to me I am thinking..what an exciting time in your life. You have only one child and no husband to answer to. Time to live your dreams. Enroll in School , start a new business. Take time for you. Best of luck

You start with telling your son that it isn't his fault for daddy leaving then you show him everyday that you love him. You find a job and start your life again. It is a long hard road but you can do it!!!!
