I weigh 99-103 pounds (strangly enough it varies by the day) I am 4 foot 10 inches. I am in 6th grade. Am I overweight? How much overweight? How much do I need to lose? How do I lose it?

Oh yeah, I never eat fast food, rarely dring pop, only take my portion of a meal, and walk for about 30 minutes every day so... The only thing I ever overeat on is candy, which I rarely have the opportunity to overeat on.

No. You're not. You are at, actually, a perfect weight for your height.

Your BMI (body mass index) is 21.5. A healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24. You are smack dab in the middle. Lucky you!

Please don't try to lose any weight. My BMI was at 22, and I started my bulimic phase. When I snapped out of it, I was 5'6 and I weighed 115. Really not healthy. Be happy with who you are!

And by the way, since you're in 6th grade, all the others around u are probably jealous.

You are in 6th grade.....you are still growing so trying to lose weight now is seriously not the greatest idea, it could stunt your growth....As for you being overweight, I was about 5'3 when I was that young and weighted about the same as you, I don't think I was and I don't think you are either!!

And......muscle weighs more than fat, look it up on the net....lol

hetty, you're wrong.
what people mean when they say that muscle is heavier than fat, is that muscle is more compacts than fat, therefore it is denser. a pound of fat and a pound of muscle weigh exactly the same, but the Fat would appear to look larger, because it is less dense.

anyway...
just a 15 minute walk after school every day will work wonders for you, because you don't seem to need to lose much weight.

Your weight is PERFECT for your height. DO NOT TRY TO LOOSE ANY WEIGHT. I am the same height & used to weigh that at my healthiest. Now that I'm a bit older I weigh quite a bit more. You may gain a bit when you go through puberty, hormones and all (before getting your 1st period). This is also normal and is NOT cause for concern.

Yes, you are -30 pounds overweight (that is, you are in the average zone!).

You don't need to lose any, but you should be proud!

look it up on the internet. Doesn't sound like you are. look up body mass index or something. If you are overweight, it should only be a pound or 2.
