m= people + elevator
m= 575kng

296000N=(575kg)a
a=514.8m/s^2

Who is taking the class you or me. What good would it do you if I give you the answer. I CERTAINLY WOULD NOT WANT TO RIDE IN AN ELEVATOR THAT YOU HELPED DESIGN. Do your own work and then be proud of it.

a = 29,600/(9.8(20*75 + 500)) = 3.76 m/s^2
