Okay, I'm thirteen years old and I have really bad underarm sweating. I have no clue why- I apply deodorant and take showers regularly. It's really embarrassing because I have to keep my arms down all day, and I'm constantly self concious about it. Unfortunately for me, I don't have anyone that I can talk to about it without them laughing at me or not taking it seriously. I really want someone to recommend a perfect, quick, and dry deodorant that I can use and buy at a local grocery store or something. Is that possible, or do I have to get one at a drug store? Can I buy this without an adult? Oh, yeah- do you guys have any "at home" secrets to stop the sweating? You know, like apply baking soda or whatever(just an example)? It's really severe, and I have no idea what to do. It's ruining my life and making me somewhat insecure. Please help me! It's greatly appreciated. ^_^

Deoderants do not stop sweating (they just affect smell); you need one specifically labelled anti-perspirant. There really is not that much of a difference between brands, just remember to rotate brands every 6 to 9 months as your body will eventually start to get used to whatever anti-perspirant you purchase. You don't need to pick a brand new type every time you switch - it just needs to be something other than the one you used most recently.

Try Secret Platinum in the soft solid - not the clear or invisible but the white stuff that clicks up through a bunch of little holes. I'm a heavy sweater too and this is the most effective I've tried. If that doesn't work you can try Certain-Dri or the crystal deodorant - these should also be available at a drugstore. I've heard of using vinegar but that's not as effective as commercial antiperspirant and besides you'd smell like vinegar - yuck! Good luck sweetie. Also, you can talk to your school nurse about stuff like this if there's not an adult female in your life to help you with "girly" questions and problems. That's why she's there.

Well if you are using deodorant and not an antiperspirant then that could be your answer.

Here is another solution:
