I guess you could call me a mixture between tomboy and girly girl since I dress like a girly girl but act like a tomboy. Anyway I have a lot of guy friends and whenever I bring over a guy from my work (I'm a professional model) they instantly hate on him. I usually play sports with my friends which usually consist of football and they'll seriously hurt my male coworker that he may not work for awhile since he has bruises which is bad for a model and is obviously hurt. They don't act like this when I bring a guy that isn't a model especially one that isn't attractive at all. I know that my guy friends really care about me but sometimes it feels like they smother me because whenever I'm with a guy that I have a crush on they instantly ruin the conversation and drag me away from him. Whats up with their attitude???

It's a dominance/control thing. THink of women's groups as circular. Everyone helps everyone else (in a perfect world) Think of men's groups as pyramids...there can only be ONE on top. Everybody scrambles to be the top "dog" so to speak, and there is a lot of competition. When you have good looking guy friends, your other friends see him as a challenge to their "place" on the pyramid. If they can knock him out of the game, their place is assurred.

Those guys are claiming you in their minds, whether they'll or you'll admit it or not. Trust me, guys would rather hang out with another attractive man than an overweight dude. I've lived it and seen it. That's why as a heterosexual man I'd rather hang with a woman any day, I don't have any male friends and I am happily married. The whole issue bugs me out to this day.

I believe it is an INSECURITY thing. You hang out in a circle of friends that are of your equal.
Birds of a feather flock together is a saying for that. Bring someone into a group of friends that are better looking, ugly, dumb or smart, the majority will unanimously bind together as one to fend off the new comer and show him or her whose territory it is. It a male thing. The animality in us shows and the alpha male (the dominant one) will get the closed group to try and do anything to show the newcomer who is boss and that he or she does not belong here or there. Where instead they should get to know this person before they launch their attack and judge this book by the cover. They could aso use the situation to their advantage IF they knew how to manipulate the situation. But I guess not. They're just being guys and are your friends.Who knows, maybe you're testing them to see if they realy do care about you in more ways than one. But more power to you and talk to them and ask them as well. Good luck.

Probably because men like to have power, and if he's more attractive than the rest - it's a threat. They want to feel powerful, so they beat him up. Or jealousy. Just a guess.

One word 'competition'. They want to disfigure the good looking one so they look better. It's a guy macho thing, but it's also a young immature stage type of thing. I'm betting you and your guy friends are 18-23. They'll eventually (hopefully) grow up and conduct themselves like men.

because most men don't want to start falling in love with men

also maybe some models (not you) are arrogant, or male models either acting too macho or too sissy, or your non-models see competition from another man, although competition for a mate is usually a woman's attitude, normal men usually just go to their other girlfriend(s) instead and let you and the male models powder your noses together.

Maybe you act different and this makes your friends uncomfortable ! Most men could really care less about
another man but it does get frustrating when A friend brings one
around and they turn into something that is annoying !

They are jealous, plain and simple. Guys feel threatened by other guys that they feel are better looking. It has alot to do with our natural insecurities. When a good looking woman hangs with us it makes us feel good like we might actualy have a chance with her but when she brings some other guy around that we feel is better looking then we have to exel in some other way. Guys are just naturaly competitive that way and this is even more prevalent when around sexy women.

They are jealous of these good looking men for one thing, and did you ever consider that some of your "friends" just might be interested in you more than just as a "sports buddy"?

They're either jealous, want to prove their manhood or don't want to be seen as gay. Ever stop to think that maybe your guy friends might want to be more than that?
