Im 14 and I haven't gotten my period, but yet ALL of my other friends have and im older then them all. One of my friends said that it has something that has to due with how much you weigh. I weigh 70 pounds (i know thats not a lot, but im kind of small). Around what weight limit do you normally get your period at, or how much did you weigh when you first got it?

Nothing's wrong--don't worry. A friend of mine is currently seventeen years old and still has not started her period. And you are right on about the weight issue. When you're on your period, you're developing eggs, and your body can see that (since you're so tiny) you are not equiped with enough cushion (or weight) to protect those eggs. Your body knows ALL--it will bring your period when you are ready. Also, if you're extremely athletic, it could stop the production of eggs even further, so that would be another explanation why you have not started yet.

Truthfully, periods are no fun. I started back in the fifth grade weighing above 100 lbs and was about 5'6". I'd say if you ever get into the nineties and you develope breasts (I developed mine in the fourth grade prior to starting my period) you should begin maturation and start your period soon after. :)

Don't worry some of my friends are 14 also and don't have their period yet, it's not big deal some girls just develop slower than others its nothing to be ashamed about. Your weight also has nothing to do with when you do or don't get your period. I would say that if you don't get your period by the time your 16 though you should go and see a gynecologist and talk to them about it.

Well, assuming you are not active( you know what I mean) the first thing i would suggest is the talk to your doctor or gyn about it. Sometimes it could be in your family genes. maybe your mom, aunt , or sister started late. Some girls start late if they are highly athletic. I do not know why but it does have an effect on the menstrual cycle. My cousin all started at 15. Being a late bloomer is normal. But do see your doc for a check up just to be sure.

There's nothing wrong! I didn't start my period until I was 15. It has nothing to do with how big or small you are. It will start when the time is right. Believe me, when you've had your first one, you will wish it never came back. Enjoy being period free, and remember worry or stress can prevent a period from happening.

Your weight has nothing to do with your periods. All women start at different ages as we all mature at different rates. If you havne't gotten your period by time you are 16 then you may want to see your doc but until then relax and enjoy the fact that you don't have to deal with it each month.

No, nothing's wrong. Every girl gets her period on her own schedule. I know a girl who didn't start 'til she was 16. Body weight is part of it, but fat is another. If you are really lean and muscular, that'll slow you down too. For most, your period starts about a year after you get your breasts. How developed are you? Think about tha as a time frame, o.k.?

Everyone is different, so just because everyone else has theirs doesn't mean you should already have yours. How old was your Mom when she got hers, if she was a late bloomer you may be, too. If your friend brought up your weight does that mean that you're anorexic because most girls with anorexia don't have their periods, or stop having them because their bodies don't function properly with eating disorders. Talk it over with your Mom she might have to take you to a doctor to make sure that everything is functioning correctly.

it is truth that it also depends on your weight. In my class, at the age of 12 i was the one who had the biggest breasts, but my friends, which werent as developed as me, but were heavier than me, had their period before me. Dont worry, there is nothing wrong with you, and even thou you might feel kind of cool you have period, there is nothing great about it, you gona have it for about 30 years, so enjoy your time without it,trust me.

i have it now, and im moody, in pain, having migrane....it is just not very nice

Believe me nothing is wrong with you. Some kids start as early as 9 yrs. old and others not until 17 yrs old.
Once u start, u will not like it, get u some pamprin and fill some empty pepsi bottles with hot water to put on belly.
Also magnets on refridgerator helps cramps.

Weight has nothing to do with it, nature does. You will get yours when it's time - don't worry it an individual thing.
