I am naming 1 of my children Sequoyah Admira Devi, which means- Divine Goddess . But I don't know if I like the name Cheyenne, Milan, or Milani. Please help me choose 1 out of Cheyenne, Milan, or Milani. I don't want a ghetto name, so im not sure if Milani will work!

I checked the 'baby name wizard' (popularity graphs of every name) - Milan hasn't been used since since the 60's. And Milani has *never* been in the top 1000 names. I don't think you are in danger of it being viewed as a ghetto name. Both names are beautiful with Cheyenne. The only question is which middle name flows better with your last name.

I'm impressed with Sequoyah.....nice name, very strong.

I'm also happy you are looking to steer clear of ghetto names. I interview a lot of young people and I'm always amazed at the stuff some people make up and name their kids.

It's painful to see "Sheniqueelia's" expression when asked "how do you pronounce your name?" by someone on the interview panel. No child should bear this burden for a name mom thought was 'cute'.

That said, I'm sure you know that Cheyenne isn't Cherokee, but I will give it a thumbs up.

Milan is a city in Italy as far as I know. One that most americans never pronounce correctly.

Milani seems....cheesy. That's what it makes me think. You asked, I'm just saying.....also it's too close to Melanie, so everyone will call her that.

I wouldn't do Milan for the simple fact of the city name, I would consider Cheyenne because it's simple but cute.

I think Cheyenne is very pretty for a little girl. The others I don't care too much for.

It is best to have your elders or chief give your child a name as names mean things differently. If you're not of this culture, contact the local council on a local reserve and ask advice of finding the proper name.
