If so, when can we expect the socks and underwear that have disappeared every time we do the laundry to come back?

I think it is in the washer. A few years ago though, my dryer was making bad noises and I got a guy to come in and look at it. He pulled it apart and it had actually, literally been eating my clothes. There were shredded socks, underpants, apron strings and singlets stuck in the back of it. It was awful, like finding a mass grave of my dear departed clothes.

Actually, the one at my place is behind the shed. It's really tough because there's just six inches between the back of the shed and the fence.

So you ask me - how do I know this if I can't even get behind the shed? Well, you're going to laugh, but Jesus told me.

I was lying in bed, probably a few months ago, staring at the ceiling and hoping I could sleep. Then I noticed a dim light, pulsing, in the back yard. I could see it through the slats of the blinds.

So I got up and opened the blinds. I could just make out the shadowy shed and saw a light pulsing around it. I was a little freaked out so I got dressed and went outside.

I eventually figured out that the light was coming from behind the shed. I put on my aluminum foil hat to avoid alien radiation and peeked behind the shed.

There, before me, was an 8-inch high Jesus, as real as you and me, bathing in the pulsing pink light. I was taken aback and said:

"What are YOU doing here?"

All he said was:

"I'm opening the portal."

Then he vanished.

I tell you - it really happened!

They will never come back. The aliens have got them. They don't want to buy any of their own so they make these portholes in our dryers and washers to snatch what they want.

I don't know about a porthole but what some do is buy a net zipper bag to wash socks in or get a big safety pin and secure them together. but it does seem something is getting them.

There is a porthole. As your attorney, in order to reach said dimension, I advise you to take two hits of acid and sniff a bottle of ether. Good luck on your journey. Godspeed.

Good question. I am going to turn them inside out tonight when I do laundry. Then see if they turn right side out. And why does the washing machine eat socks? I think their is a troll in the washing machine that likes to flip clothes inside out and wear mismatched socks!

There is some kind of massive private party going on in there and only single socks are allowed in.

I have been washing clothes now for just over 50 yrs. & haven't gotten back all my socks yet. Haven't lost any undies though, that I know of.

Yes
And they do comeback....but usually after you have toss the matching sock out.
And they do not, I repeat, they do not return in the same place they were beamed from...they usually appear someplace else, such as inside your closet or underneath your bed.
