Cheerleading is definitly a sport. Just because we dont tackle some other guy in order to get a ball doesnt mean its not a sport. We do work as hard as what some would call "real athletes". Our practices are just as intense as any basketball or football practice. Not to mention when we are getting ready for a big competition.
We are to maintain good grades, and be role models for the schools and community, we are expected to come do our job of tossing people in the air, and no matter how much pain we are in put a smile on our face and act like its not there. I know of many sports players who hurt themselves and cry like there life is over. For anyone who sits there and says cheerleading is not a sport i would say go do a practice with a team for a week, you dont know until you try.

I strongly belieev that it is a sport simply because ive seen what most girls have to do on a cheerleading team. It is just as hard as any other sport and requires much practice, devotion and heart. To be involved with cheerleading you must be flexible, fit and talented.(Just like any sport)

YES...i consider it a sport you must be able to do stunts like gymnastic (which is considered a sport) and you have injuries in cheerleading because of builds (just like f-ball who has injuries and considered a sport) i think it is a sport but thats my opinoin
