This is simple---the dancing raisins. Put a handful of raisins in a Tupperware type container and toss in an alkaseltzer. The raisins will "dance" because the oxygen bonds to them. Make a nice backboard and there ya go!

A good stand-by is an experiment to see if plants grow equally well in natural light and artificial light. Get about 6 identical small pots and put in dirt (equal parts). Buy some bean plant seeds (they grow the quickest). Plant all the seeds in the same way, in the same amount of dirt, and water them the same. Keep a good record of exactly when you planted, when you watered, and exactly how much you watered. Put two of the plants in a sunny window, put two under a regular light bulb for 8-10 hours a day, and put two under a "grow" light bulb for 8-10 hours a day. Keep up the regular watering, etc., and chart which plants grew the best. Write a report on the results and your theory why you think that happened!

Your local library should have shelves full of books just for kids. Try asking the librarian where in the Juvenile section they are. All kinds of great projects from the simple to the complicated.
