Playing fodder to the target market demographic. The new 'cool' thing is to be 'liberal' because everyone seems to hate Bush. Hollywood is as political as a chicken is a mammal.

Studies show that creativity is displayed as activity on the left side of one’s brain. While analytical processing is typically performed on the right side of the brain. I think most liberals are creative people based on imagination and creativity and most conservatives are analytical people based on some form of logic. I believe industries that rely on creativity, such as Hollywood or Fashion, will attract liberals. While industries that value analytical skills such as Wall Street will attract conservatives. Sure there will be exceptions to any rule, but I think this holds true generally speaking.

Celebrities do not live in our reality. They are overpaid and coddled. They don't have to actually work for a living, and pay bills and taxes. Do you imagine Sean Penn sitting down and balancing his checkbook. They have handlers and assistants who isolate them from the responsibility of being adults. It's easy when you don't have to worry about paying your mortgage or you can just pack up and move to France to have idyllic ideologies. Understand that most liberals have some Utopian idea of society, and that is the world that celebrities live in. This is why most teens and college students are liberal, they haven't had to live as a pragmatic adult. Liberals are fanciful conservatives are pragmatic. Celebrities are fanciful, that's what they do.
The inherent danger in this is that your average dopey American listens more to George Clooney than George Stephanopolis and that's a a problem. These people are not intelligent when it comes to the dynamics of politics but are very charismatic and that makes them appear intelligent. They need to shut the hell up about politics because they unduly influence the weak of mind.

Hollywood isn't the only group that support liberalism, they are joined by education and media.
To give some background, liberalism has socialistic and Marxism roots and there has always been a romanticism with Marxism by the social elite. Also, the Democratic party has been influenced significantly by liberal thought including secular progressives and has changed the party and made it more left leaning. George P. Lakoff from the University of California, Berkeley is one of the fathers of secular progressives and the ACLU and is a major funding and enforcement body that influences liberal and secular progressive thought in the US.
Liberals and secularist progressives believe in the following:
Christians are obstacles to an "enlightened" society
Drugs should be legalized
Homosexual marriage is equal to marriage between a man and a woman
Abortion is good for society and is not the killing of a child
Euthanasia is also good for society and not killing an adult
America is the root of evil in the world
We should appease our enemies
Countries and boundaries are irrelevant, people should be allowed into the US without legal process and there should be open borders.
Government programs with high taxation are good for society
Liberals want to change America by weakening the country as a nation and significantly destroying the social fabric that has been been built over 200 years of our existence. This is a cultural war, the stakes are high, but I believe in America and a sense of morality will somehow prevail in the end.

To be conservative is to be "square", and in Hollywood, one must be hip and progressive...hence the "liberal" label...
Repubs and conservatives promote the anti-Hollywood life: so why would celebs get behind that one???

They are mostly liberal. Remember, these are people who are rich as hell, and feel guilty about it. People so removed from reality, that liberalism is the natural course of political "thought."
