help!?! my friend lives in springside, saskatchewan canada.
he has DAS, slight autism, stuttering, paranoia, schizophrenia,
his mother yells at him, and treats him cruelly, sometimes beats him,she doesn't let him go out, doesn't let him use the phone.

and he was recently expelled from his 'special' school for getting in a fight with some kids that were tormenting him, picked on him, made fun of him, then they threatened to kill a dog, they messed with him persistently until he got expelled for fighting with them.

he has gone to the police, and told them that she does these things, but she says that he tried to kill her, and they believe her over him, and then that night she beats him. he has gone to child services and they said he cannot be taken because of his ''preferences'', and his mom is forcing him to move out by feb. 2.
they say he is 2 mentally unstable for a normal home, what can he do? is there anything i can do? please help!?!

If you are an adult, you can always petition the courts for legal guardianship, based on the fact that your friend's mother is abusive abnd he has special needs. If you are not an adult, go to your parents. Tell them everything you know and ask them to help you tell the police what has been happening to your friend at home.
You can also get your friend to ask for a child advocate, if he is not legal age yet. This is a lawyer who will see that your friend keeps going to school, is treated with respect by his mother and has a decent place to live with his legal guardian.
I hope this helps

I don't know what the laws or service are in Canada. Here in the states his mother could not kick him out if he is a minor. What about other members of his family dad.grandparents ,aunt, uncles.even if they are not equiped to handle him, they could get social services to find a home for him.
maybe he himself could ask social sevices or some agency to test him with a mental doctor to see if he is not mentality handicapped.

I wish I knew how old your friend was. The fact that social service is refusing him is WRONG. Call the police. And show them any bruises he has.

Also, call Social Services. They are supposed to help those who are mistreated, especially if they have "special circumstances."

Have you spoken to either the police or Social Services yourself? The whole thing may be a made-up story by your friend to gain sympathy.

1. How old is he? If he's a minor, contact the Childrens Aid Society.

2. If he's not a minor, I'm sure there are provincial government agencies that will help. Contact them

I am sorry for your friends difficulties...It is wonderful that you have such great concern for you friend...Life really sucks sometimes, especially if you don't fit the mold that many feel is "normal".....You could always put this story in the newspaper in his area....ask if there is anyone in the area that could mentor this man, and help him...I am sorry I don't have a better suggestion....Maybe a church?....Good luck.
