I believe they are withholding the truth until a proper diagnosis on his condition can be released to his citizenry. They do not want the country to collapse economically or result in chaos until they have put their ducks in a row as to who will follow him. I believe his brother is a temporary replacement who is ill equipped to handle the role with the due diligence necessary.

We can only hope that when Fidel dies, that his brither Raul will move closer to US policy and get as far away as possible from that disgusting fat body, Hugo Chavez.

Well, who would you trust more, a state controlled media, run by an oppresive government, or a completly free media? I'd go with the U.S. media, but it isn't out of the realm of possiblility that they got it wrong, or were going with wishful thinking, but it isn't likely.

what are the chances it really matters? if he is sick and dying let him do it in peace. it will not change cuba,unless we invade. keep in mind that on grenada, cuban construction workers killed 19 US troops.
