The weather is horrible right now...very icy roads. I live on the 2nd floor of apartments and the 2 flights of stairs to go down are completly iced over...like a ice skating rink..very slippery.

First I get a call saying do not report to work due to weather conditions. Then about 1 hr later another manager calls saying you have to report to work!

My major problem is that you would have to put in leave...and I don't have any. How do you think this would be handled by a manager?

I should also add several major highways, all schools, and businesses are closed.

I would explain to your manager that you can't get out of your house. It is not worth your health to get to work. Take pictures if you can of the stairwell. If they get upset or threaten to write you up. Take it. It is worth the right up.

If they are expecting you to come to work, you should make every effort to get there.

I don't know what part of the country you live in, but if you live in an area where bad weather is normal in the winter, then you have no excuse. It's expected that you report to work.

Following the military dictum, you have to obey the last order first, and report to work. Your problem is that you have two managers who are giving you different orders. As to having no leave, did you take it for legitimate purposes, or did you use it for fun and games? Only you know the answer to that. Be careful driving, and you should be alright.

I would tell you to try and get to work, even if you report to work late, it's better than not reporting at all. Just go slow and easy and work your way in.

Go to work.........make that money.....screw the weather.....just be glad you don't have to work in it, like a cop, fireman, or paramedic.
