Houston Nutt has now lost brilliant coach Malzahn and freshman Mitch Mustain to Tulsa. I've been following Arkansas football for 30 years -- it is a once a century deal for an Arkansas high school to produce the nation's top QB, and now Nutt has blown it.

I don't think it's confirmed that Mustain is following Gus to Tulsa, but that's what I'm hearing from my Arkansas relatives.

Steve: I agree, I wasn't much impressed by Mustain except for that very 1st drive against USC -- still he was just a Freshman. We'll see, just a shame they couldn't hold on to McFadden and Mustain both, plus I think Malzahn is a far more brilliant offensive coach than Nutt.

I hope and pray that they will. He has shot our team in the proverbial foot for the last time, IMO. I've always been proud to be a Hog Alum, but the way Nutt's handled this season can only be described as nuts. He definitely deserves to be fired. BUT....
Considering the Razorback Club is still paying on the contract they had to buy out from Nolan, chances are they won't want to pay for a new coach if they have to buy out Nutt too.

But by all means, YES, Nutt needs to go! I mean, he was inches away from getting fired at the beginning of this last season until Gus and Mitch gave our team the boost they needed to have a winning year. They stopped winning when Nutt insisted on micromanaging the offense and wouldn't let them do their winning combinations. A lot of it is Broyle's fault for also micromanaging Nutt and making him crazy. Some say Broyles is at fault for ruining most of our better coaches, including Holtz and Nolan Richardson. Anyway, I know I am rambling here, but my point is, Mahlzan and Mustain are what saved Nutt's butt from getting can. They are basically the only reason he got that new contract to begin with. So without them, does he deserve it? NO! He has self destructed. Hog Nation shouldn't have to ride to loser town with him.

No! If Arkansas fires Nutt, it will be a total injustice! I can't believe you'd trade a running back who had a 1,000 + yard season and a shot at the Heisman Trophy for a bitchy QB and his coach (Malzhan). I hope those two get EXACTLY what they deserve! What coach in his right mind is going to "knuckle down" an offense to include a QB that "has the tools", when he already has McFadden and Jones running people to death? Mustain and Malzahn could've waited their turn, but NOOOO! They wanted it their way! Well, the NCAA isn't Burger King! It's about education (something those two need, apparently), and when it comes to D-1 football, WINNING! Had Arkansas gone 6-6, then i could see Nutt getting fired, but 11-2 with those whiney asses? If anything, Nutt should get a RAISE for putting up with their BS all season! Good riddance to bad rubbish if you ask me!

Mustain isn't and never will be good. So hold your hog mentality, and give nutt a chance.

Mitch Mustain went to Tulsa?

Yes, he didn't have the guts to stand up to the big shots when they forced him to hire Gus. Then didn't back Gus once he hired him. Now its all coming apart at the seams. Hogville says the Board of Trustees plane is about to arrive at Dallas Love field for a Scheduled 11 minute stop then back to Fayetteville.

Some say it will bring back a signed contract from David Lee.

They also lost a good WR who transferred to USC. It depends on who they could realistically land to coach the team. If they could pull in someone like Norm Chow I say fire him.
