if not, where do you draw the line? If someone called you closed minded, would you take offense no matter what the issue? If any, what ideas are you proud of having a closed mind toward?

to have a closed mind means simply there is no room to grow or learn anything new. with me, im open minded, even if i totally disagree with something, i still want to be educated just for simply learning something new. as far as differences of opinions, respect the difference, but not all will agree on same topic.

military and religion, im closed minded to, there are no athiests in the foxholes, i know that from experience. desert storm vet.

as far as the lgbt, i am back to socializing has taken me two years to actually talk to other women, so i intend to learn as much as i can, i have met my first transgendered male a few days ago, and all, SHE is drop dead gorgeous. i am not built right for her, and vice versa but i enjoyed talking to her.

i know i have a misconception of bi females, cause i have dated a few in my past. so if there are any bi women that would like to talk and educate me(not cyber) please email me at logan6171yahoo.com
bi women scare me and i need to get past it, cause i have found a lady i like but she is bi. women in the past just used me for whatever then went back to boyfriends and husbands.

back to the question, i am closed minded about relationships(mine anyway) and affairs, child molesters, people who hurt women, child or animal endangering, and men.
everything im pretty open minded about.

I do not have an open mind toward everything and that is intentional. For example, I am pretty closed-minded to hate and just about all of its forms. I can see no value that hating provides to to me or society. I am also close-minded to lying, abuse, torture and cheating. I think you get the idea. While I have few absolutes, I think that some ideas and behaviors are just wrong and should be avoided and/or eliminated.

It would depend on who was calling me close-minded to determine if I would take offense. I generally do not listen to what strangers say about my behavior because they are mostly commenting on themselves. Therefore, no offense would be taken. However, if a close friend or loved one says I am being close-minded, I have to at least consider it, even I eventually disagree. However, because these people care about me, their comment would no cause offense since I think they would mean no offense.

Yes I do, but I know that's never gonna happen. I don't wanna end up at the same level as the many "preachers" around here who want to force their beliefs on everyone. As for drawing the line, at the point where people directly harm others, like saying hateful stuff just to get negative reactions out of people. Then again, it's nearly impossible not to say or do anything you want and have no one decide they were hurt or offended by it. If "offend no one" was taken very seriously, any form of expression would be nearly impossible because someone will always not like it.

I am closed minded on certain things.

All humans are human. I have a closed mind on this and am not willing to listen to drivel about how this or that group is evil or are all terrorists, are rightfully considered or treated as property, or any other such cr*p.

I am unalterably opposed to oppression, or to reverting to a feudal society where a very few people are comfy and all the rest miserable.

The only torture I might be persuaded to accept would be the torture of those who have ordered torture. I'm really tempted to give on this one.

My mind is closed to objections to this precept: Live, and let live.

I just won't back down on that one.

Another is, knowledge and understanding are better than ignorance and confusion.

In a style I do think of that your guy or woman convictions and conception do effect how open minded you're.Like me i attempt to be as open minded as i could properly be yet there are particular issues that i'm closed minded on,yet I do attempt to understand the place somebody else is coming from so technically i'm no longer thoroughly close minded.Open mindedness is prepared to contemplate new innovations, you are able to properly be prepared yet no longer accept as true with a clean thought once you pay attention it and nonetheless be open minded.

One should have an open mind to everything that consensual adults want to do that causes no harm to others. I am proud of having a closed mind to actions that harm another living being.

I do not have an open mind towards child abuse, pedophilia or violence. Apart from that I may not agree with others on many issues but I respect their right to hold their views and accept that I may be wrong in mine.

Have an open mind about everything unless there is a reason not to be. If someone is being hurt, abused or taken advantage of. Otherwise don't judge too quickly.

Um, I think self mutilation and self harm are good lines to draw. Hurting others is another line I'd draw. I don't INTENTIONALLY hurt anyone.
Although on here, I can't say that that's a highly thought of personal value.
