Mine did and she also had plastic sofa covers but we joked about them so much she finally took those off.

Yes. She also had the hard candy in the dish. When you picked one up, the whole bowl came up. I miss that.

oh how the bad memories of plastic abuse are flooding my mind!!! In addition to the runners and the furniture covers, she also had these diposable plastic mats about 4 ft across and I wasn't allowed to be in her house unless there was a sea of plastic under me because I was a child, and the only thing children do is make messes.
I really don't know how my grandpa put up with her for all those years

No mine didn't thank god, but a Friend of my mother's did, I laughed, and so did my 5 younger brothers and sisters.....well now you can see why she had things covered, that is a lot of company but oh was it sticky in the summertime!!!!!!! I would NEVER have plastic or plastic runners in my home!!!! Great question!!! you really made me laugh into the way back machine here!!!!!

She had the runners on the floor. None on the carpet. She took them up when her grandkids got older and would only break them back out around Christmas when she knew she would have a lot of people visiting.

I was just going to say that she didn't have the runners but the furniture covers in plastic. Gosh, she was such a great cook my gram.

yes !! and the plastic slip covers too , along with for some unknown, ungodly reason waxed paper over the doilies on her dressers.....and she kept the plastic on the lampshades too. YIKES !! the nightmares i'm gonna have tonight.

Yes! I used to do laps of the plastic covered hallway on my rollerblades : ) She never had the classic couch cover though...

No but she had lacy things that went over the back of the sofa and we kids used to wipe our snotty noses on them!!!! Your family are so anal, no wonder you are attracted to the more laid back Scots lifestyle lassie x

yes my grandma had them too :) I always laughed. But now that I am a mom I understand why she did it. I miss my grandma so ... I would love to be able to sit beside her on her hard plastic couch again!

nope..my granny just had a couple of rugs down and didn't have carpet
she did keep the plastic on all the lamp shades though
