I have a dell pc that came with a ps2 keyboard, today I bought a usb one and I thought that just by restarting the computer it would work, but it didn't; so, I was wondering if someone out there has the knowledge of how to set up the bios to recognize the new one. Thanks.

Start your system without the USB keyboard plugged in, with the system running as normal, plug in the USB, if the new hardware wizard comes on then everything will install O.K. Otherwise the new hardware is not being recognized.

If the above don't work for you go in your BIOS, you should see a setting "Enable USB Keyboard" Make sure its enabled.

...But Win XP should automatically recognize it when you start your PC.

It should work right out of the box but will conflict with a PS/2 keyboard if the PS/2 keyboard is still plugged in.
