What does this term mean and is their a story myth that goes with it? Been looking on the web but only seem to run across movie articles and anime references.

That is a reference to people born under the sign of Cancer, which is ruled by the moon.

Or it is a reference to Sailor Moon :)

I'm a moon child. The only place I've heard of it is in astrology. I was born in July. Your horoscope calls you cancer or moon child. I definitely prefer to be a moon child. Cancer is way to negative and scary.
