They will start to look gross and eventually either start to fall off or get long enough you will need to trim them off. Even if you wait to long to get them filled, they start to lift from your fingernail. I've had acrylic nails..they are too much upkeep (They look really nice though if you have time to take care of them).

They will just fall off over time. Nothing bad will happen, although acyrilic nails do ruin your real ones. It is better to get fill-ins at least once every two weeks if you want to keep them on.

when your nails grow, they will leave a ridge/bump, where your natural nail is,
the acrylic then looks as though it is a mini diving board on the end of your fingers.(lol),

if you do not want to have them filled in, you should consider having them removed, they probably do that in the salon where you got them done.

you could also consider buying yourself an acrylic nail kit from a local drugstore.... whatever you decide to do, good luck

the gap between the acrylic and your cuticle will continue to grow. The acrylic could start to lift. Your nails will get longer, and therefore you'll have a better chance at getting them caught on something and breaking them. And trust me, it hurts!

Anyways, get them filled when needed. If you don't want to, get them removed.
