If you are looking for personality traits, here you go.
1) Wit. I don't mean humor, but rather ability to think on his feet.
2) Charismatic. He is able to manipulate and trick people (think Cyclops, Trojan horse) to get his way. This is similar to number 1, but there are differences.
3) Hubris. This is his tragic flaw, the part that brings him down in the end. Because he is so smart and strong, he is also arrogant. I'm sure you know that the reason he has problems is because the Cyclops asked his father, Neptune to seek revenge on Odyseus, who took out his eye. The Cyclops only knew Odyseus' name because Odyseus shouted it back to him because of pride.

I hope that helps, and makes sense. Check out the character analysis on www.sparknotes.com for more ideas and explanations.

I would say that Odysseus was the perfect "student" he was brilliant yet arrogant.
Handsome yet reckless. And after this odesey, would have done it all over again!! Even after knowing what he learned.

i might do know hospitality (does not hurry and betray it and facilitates him in specific places), delight (sturdy reason he merits it, undesirable while that's going to become hubris--severe delight that stressful circumstances the gods), and perseverance (obdurate in some places and sturdy in others).
