Because the Gay lifestyle is Against GOD. and to raise children in that kind of environment is damaging to them.
Life began MAN and WOMAN. Everyone knows that this is right. Gays are choosing to live immorally. Let's not program our children against God from the start.

There's no good reason why they shouldn't.
The ideal of the "traditional family" is a myth! It's a commercialized concept designed to sell the American public on goods and services aimed at a false ideal that has never existed at any other time.
Families are made up in a beautiful myriad of styles. Grandparents raising their grandchildren, Aunts and Uncles taking in their nieces and nephews, Single mothers, single fathers, Step-parents, adoptive parents, foster families who really are loving and caring, extended families working together to raise all their children.

What many people forget is even when a child does have a "mother" AND a "father" there's no guarentee those two will stay together or that one won't die early. There's no guarentee that they aren't abusive or neglective of their children.

Gay/Lesbian adoptive parents often take much more time and care in deciding to adopt than other opposite gender couples. They usually really want to give disadvantaged kids and kids who otherwise wouldn't be adopted by "traditional" couples, a fighting chance to have a loving family! Many times Gay/Lesbian couples adopt older, unadoptable kids, kids with learning or physical challenges, kids with drug or alcohol exposure syndromes, kids who've been bounced around the foster care system and are in desperate need of stable family lives.

In the next year, my partner and I are planning to move to a larger home and we have discussed becoming a foster family. We believe we've done a fairly decent job of raising my son, and want to give other kids the same fighting chance....or at least a safe place to call "home" even if it's temporary.

They should be allowed to adopt. If 2 people are ready, willing and able to take a child in that have no parents for whatever reason, it shouldn't matter if they are lesbians, what matters is love and the ability to raise a child both financially and mentally.

They should. There's no reason why they shouldn't.

I know that some people say that the child needs a mother and father to be healthy, but then we'd have to take children away from single mothers and single fathers as well.

The whole idea of revoking rights based on sexual orientation is ridiculous.

The proper question is: Who gives ANYONE the right to say that lesbians shouldn't be allowed to adopt?

Speaking as someone who was adopted, we have enough problems without being left with such a confusing thing to deal with.

Because children don't have a choice as to who their parents are and therefore, they should be given the opportunity to have a mother and a father instead of lesbians being selfish and thinking they should have every right any other couple has. think of the kids. i'm not saying lesbians can't love them but they can't provide kids with the opportunity of having a mother AND a father.
