I find that simply mind-boggling. I mean really, it makes no sense whatsoever since 185/65R14 is at least several times more common than 185/70R14, which is a dying size. Just about every small Japanese car built in the 90's used 185/65R14.

Just to give an idea... the tire store I work at sold 533 185/65R14's last year compared to 293 185/70R14's. That makes 185/65R14 the third biggest size in terms of sales volume my store had out of oh, maybe 250 different sizes we sold. Any tire shop that does not have at least half a dozen different choices IN STOCK in 185/65R14 isn't a tire shop.

Or, short version...

Try a little harder to find the right tire.

The aspect ratio will be affected slightly. Your tread width is slighty narrower. The overall height of the tire will be slightly higher. Shouldn't make a dramatic difference on handling or alignment. It may affect your speedometer by reading slower than you are actually going because the tire is higher and has a larger circumference.

There is a formula you can use to figure out what the change will be. Based on the sizes you gave, you speedometer will be off about 1% or 2.02 MPH at 65MPH, meaning that when you are going 65, you will really be going 62.98MPH ~ 63.

the 70 series tire will be about 1 inch taller then the 65 series tire, and be a tad narrower. if you are gonna do this, do all 4 at the same time. if the car has abs, it will not notice it. it will notice it if you just do 2.

That should be fine. It just means it's a bit wider which will give you more traction. But just in case ask the place where you're having them installed.

Yes...your pick-up speed will be slower. Your speedometer will read the wrong speed and your fuel consumption wwill change.

They will be a tiny bit taller. You will never notice that and it will not hurt anything.

It will make your speedometer reading incorrect.
