Sometimes a wrestler gets suddenly and unexpectedly injured during a match. Like Triple H's quad tear, or when Buff Bagwell messed up his neck wrestling Rick Steiner.

Sometimes an injury is totally faked, so that a wrestler can take time off to make a movie, take care of personal issues, or just get a little vacation. Ric Flair, back in WCW, was "injured" by Curt Hennig according to storyline but really he just wanted some time off to get plastic surgery.

The most common one, though, seems to be when a wrestler is legitimately injured from years of wrestling and needs surgery and rehab to get healthy again. Usually they'll work this into the storyline by saying that one of his enemies was directly responsible for his injury ... often the wrestler is still in good enough shape to make one more TV appearance and take a little punishment to make it look good. Just like when Mark Henry put out Chris Benoit and Paul Burchill a while back.

wrestling is not fake. ok, so the chars storylines are staged and the matches are booked. But as part of the business you have to sell both your opponent moves and your own moves during the match, and that requieres REAL wrestling skills. So you cannot say that wrestling is "fake". Therefor yes, the injures are real. If you don't believe that search for Mick Foley matches. (specially Undertaker vs Mankind, hell in the cell. Can you fake THAT??) Besides, always remember the 2 WWe slogans:

1) IT IS entreteinment, but the hazards are real"
2) "Whatever you do, whoever you are, please! don't try this at home!!!"

Soem not all. When you look at the cuts, it is very easy to tell the fake ones from the real ones. But some injuries have changed matches in the middle of the event. In the old NWA. Lugar went to lift up Andre the Giant and drop him for a piledriver. but somehow he slipped and Andre ended up with a very serious neck injury.

I assume your talking about fake wrestling. Yes fake wrestling pose fake injuries. Not that it doesnt hurt sometimes, but its all fake. However in REAL wrestling, all injuries are real (unless the kid is trying to buy some time or is getting pinned).

Wrestling itself is a total lie, but the injuries can be real and harmful. but the wrestlers are hooked on the money so they will do anything. the wrestling is planned and even those special matches have winners chosen by the managers of the show. some wrestlers have been serioulsy hurt though.

Some, not all. I was watching the PPV where Trish popped her arm out, I knew instantly she was hurt (before the replay) I looked at my roomate and said "she just f*ed her arm up"

Also I would yes because look at Owen Heart, he was doing a repelling stunt into the ring, his harness malfunctioned and he fell something like 100ft into the ring (to his death) this was not just a stunt a real man lost his life to entertain us.

Others are fake, anytime you see a camera in a "hospital room" you can be 100% sure ta ht it is staged.

Wrestling injuries are quite often real. Think of them as "stunt men" with one take only.
