i have been on birth control for a while an I only got my period when i first got on it now i am having my period twice a month??

This happened to me on about three different pills. They would work fine for the first three months or so, then I'd start getting breakthrough bleeding in the middle of the month, so I'd have to switch to a higher dose. The one I'm on now has been working fine for the past 3 years.
Don't worry, just because you are getting bleeding mid-cycle, doesn't mean that it's not keeping you from getting pregnant. It's still working. Just go back to your docter and tell them what is happening and they will put you on a higher dose pill.
