Barack Obama may be running for president. He seems like a great guy with decent morals. If he went up against a strong republican candidate for president, would he have a chance?

I just hope people vote based on their political views, and not because of skin color... I hope people don't say "He's black, he has my vote!" and I hope they don't say "He's black! He doesn't have my vote!" But of course, people will...

As cool as the idea sounds, I don't think America is ready for black president. I would have to hear more of his views on issues like Iraq, foreign policy, taxes, immigration, welfare, abortion and etc before I would vote for him. I'm not a racist but more a realist. Even though white folks, especially males, are saying yes" I'll vote for a black guy to be President", I think that when the time comes to pull the lever or push the button, all the negative illusionary images of a black guy in the "white" house will convince them that "white is right".

As sad as it is, and as cool as it would be for barack to be the first black president, i realize it wouldnt happen. i think it would be a mistake for him to be the lead dem because not only will he have to deal with a tough race against a republican candidate, but he would lose the vote of many racist democrats in the country, especially in the bible belt. so not only would he not win, but dems would have to deal with another rep president. but the idea is cool.

Yup! Partially thanks to a certain TV show featuring a black president.

But seriously, color is not an issue in my mind. Neither is sex nor hair color (or lack of hair), nor sexual orientation, nor single or married or devorced or separated.

Religious orientation? To a point, I want someone who believes in something other than our own abilities to run the planet. I want someone who is brighter than I am, who speaks the English language very well (no more made up words like Nukuler, the word is Nuclear, NU-CLE-AR)!! ((Yeah, I know ... they added it to the dictionary so that the pres would not appear stupid)).

Show me someone who speaks many languages and does it well. (Not real important but could prove beneficial).

I want someone who is honest and speaks the truth, someone strong of heart and mind who will stand up for the little guy, the poor, the people of this great country!

Find this person and we got ourselves a deal!

Obama, maybe? Got to do more research here!

No, America is not ready for a black president, we all know that. Perhaps, ready for a woman president, even so, she's have a tough job trying to get republicans to vote for her.

I would like to see a black, woman, jewish, lesbian president! I for one think that Obama sounds a bit too much like Osama.

All presidents are elected only by THIS secret and evil group that's been in control of everything for far too long!...

I don't think race or gender would matter for anyone except ignorant hate mongers (negative, as they would be against it) Or Democrats (positive, as they would try and use it as a reason you should vote for them)
