Question for woman with knowledge on conception & early pregnancy.?

its mine n my boyfriends 1st month of trying for a baby n therefore my 1st month off of the contraceptive pill. i know my periods will be ireglar n its unlikly il concieve for a few months but.. if my cycle was to b 28days (like it was b4 i went on the pill) i was due to get my period 3days ago..so i did a test y-day (2days late) n it was negative. Then this morning i noticed a very dark discharge which i thought may have been the start of my period.. bt since this small amount i havnt had n e thing else n i also havnt had the pains that i usually get with my period. can any one give me ideas as to what they think this could be/mean. coming off the pill may cause your period to go a bit eratic over next few days/weeks/months. I normally lose a small amount of blood a day before the period comes properly. All i can say is practise makes perfect, keep trying. Good luck and hope you will have good news to tell us soon. x

Your hormones will not be normal just now as you have only been off the pill for 1 month. It is unlikely you are pregnant but is possible. I think the discharge you describe is 'withdrawal bleeding' which is basically what your period is when on the pill (it is not a proper period). You may fall pregnant in the next couple of weeks BEFORE your next period is due & if this is the case you will not have a proper period to date conception from but a scan would determine your due date. It is possible to get pregnant immediately after coming off the pill, but it really isn't a good idea if you can avoid it. If you already are pregnant, you need to be careful about making sure you're getting enough minerals, since the pill depletes them.

It's pretty much impossible to figure out what's going on based on the information that you've given. It could be that you're pregnant already and just tested earlier than the the test would show it. Or your cycle could just be messed up because of coming off the pill. I'd suggest testing again in a couple of days if you still haven't had your period.

I would think that this could just be your body getting back to normal, its common that periods are light and a bit irregular when coming off the pill. Of course you could be pregnant and the hormone just isnt high enough to detect yet. Wait a couple more days (not easy i know) and do another test, its not unheard of for people to fall pregnant first go. Good luck x

might be pregnant sometimes get a slight discharge when period is due when first starting.wait a few days and take another test, i would say that its just that you had a light period though as you have just come off pill might take a while to settle down . just have to wait and see good luck

It may be your body reacting to the hormones left over from the pill. Or it may be too early to tell if you are pregnant. Wait a week and test again. If you are pregnant, you are more likely to show a positive later on.

please write out all the words when you come off the pill it messes up your cycle the test was negative so your not pregnant just relax you will start soon. ans you should use a condom for the next two months til the pill is out of your system to give your baby the best possible start

you can get pregnant straight away but this discharge is likely your body getting used to going natural again its also very likely that that was your period this month, it will be a few mnths before your body gets back to its natural cycle,, having said that with pregnancy tests only a positive is really positive but a negative could be positive too

It could mean that your body is getting itself ready to be normal again without the drugs.
I wouldn't put pressure on yourself to try and get pregnant straight away. Give your body sometime to get used to being without the drugs and enjoy your sex practising.
Don't want to put a downer on trying for a baby, but the less you think about babies and the more you enjoy yourselves without stress, the better chance you stand of concieving.

You could be starting your peroid. but i herd you have to be off the pill for about 2/3 months before trying to get preg. But i hope your boyfriend plans on sticking around. I'm not saying its bad that yall are not married and having a baby (on purpose) its just unualy, and i know there are some guys out there, who say they want a baby but as soon as the baby comes, they disappear. I just dont want you to have any regreats. good luck on getting preg!
