Anyone else have a weird phobia?
I hate buttons and have done so for as long as I can remember. It stems from an incident when I was very little and on of the buttons from my cardy fell into my wheetabix and made me choke. My mum is adament that this never happened, though.
I absolutely detest them and can't even say the word! Am I particularly strange?

Earwigs.

I saw a short film once when I was about ten where a female earwig had crawled into someone's ear and had laid eggs. Thought it was a myth but then an apple picking neighbour of mine told me that earwigs in the ears was a common problem in orchards and that they were coaxed out of the ear canal by squashing mouldy apples on the outer ear.

I am now in my fifties, but am still paralysed with fear when I see one

I've heard of your fear so it's not uncommon! As for me.. I totally panic if I see/hear someone throw up near me - mostly if I can't get away and it stinks. Although I was at a party recently and walked into a toilet to find a boy sitting after having just been sick in the toilet (which was not flushed) and I managed to help clean it off the floor and his jeans (but I think it was only because it was just like beer and it didn't smell). Or maybe it was partially because I was slightly drunk and maybe I don't bother as much then. But yeah anyway that's my phobia... emetophobia. It's kind of weird and strange to some people!

I have a horrific fear of (ambulance) stretchers! I freak out if I see one, my heart starts racing and I get real lightheaded like I'm going to pass out. And I also can not do chalk at all. I hate the feel of it but I dont have a phobia of it like I do stretchers

Bananas.
I had a spider drop out of a bunch onto my hand and after I had shaken it off, screamed the place down and stomped its little head into the tiles, they told me it was a Black Widow.

I can't even reach out for a bunch now. I have to take my son shopping or get someone to load them into my trolley and then into my bag.

You try asking someone to pick you out a nice bunch of bananas and imagine the looks you get...Good job its not coconuts I have an aversion to eh?!

I had severe acrophobia which is an intense fear of heights, a friend recommended them to me and i bought the acrophobia relief cd. after listening to it daily for around 6 weeks, i was actually able to climb on my parents roof to help replace shingles after the hurricane. Before listening to it I was not even able to climb more than 3 rungs up a ladder without freezing up and shaking violently. My friend had a fear of flying, and she was able to overcome that...she flew to hawaii just last month. Hope this helps you out...

im scared of ants, i hate them, they are so horrid, i cant touch one, or sit on the grass in the summer when they all come out, and when they all fly off i shut myself indoors for he day with all the windows closed no matter how hot it is outside. (i sat in a huge ants nest when i was little, so this is probably why)
by the way id rather be in room full of spiders than ants thats how bad it is

I've heard of that before and my friend has a phobia of beads. She cant even cope if someone else is wearing them in her prescence.

My only phobia is the guy who sits in the car with you while you go for your road test to get your driver's license. If I could overcome it, I could probably get my license tomorrow. Tsk.
