In other words, don't raise your body temperature. If you feel like you're getting overheated, get out. Hot, sweaty, weak, dizzy, lightheaded, weak....those are all bad.

The water should be fine as long as the temperature isn't over about 101-102 degrees. (That's the temperature I was told to keep the tub at for my waterbirth.)

The reason you don't want to raise your body temp too much has to do with how much oxygen gets to the baby through the placenta.

They probably mean if you've got a fever before you get in the hot tub. It can raise your body temp up way to high and harm the baby. I played it safe and stayed out of hot tubs all together until after the baby was born.

I would stay away from hot tubs all together. I have always heard don't get in a hot tub. Unless the rules have changed in the past 4 years.

i don't know but i won't go into a hot tub right now i think it's better off to wait until after the baby is born. i have never been told by anyone or by a doctor that it was ok to go into a hot tub. you shouldn't even talk really hot baths or showers either.

You know what, you answered your own question, you said "may be a silly question" therefore, you have already heard the negatives against going in a hot tub when pregnant, why would you risk it? Get a second opinion or even a third!

Don't get in the hot tub. Better safe than sorry. Your baby doesnt have a way to cool down properly if your amniotic fluids get too warm. Don't risk it.

Take your temperature, just don't drink anything so it won't affect the temp reading. Or you can just go in for 15-20 minutes to relax and then get out, you don't need to stay in for a long period of time.

It's not going to be enjoyable if youre asking someone to feel your forhead every ten mintues.=) Ive heard just to stay out of them.. It sucked for me too but do you really want to take the chance for a dip in the hot tub?

High Blood Pressure is not good for that little baby growing inside of you.
I would recommend staying out all together.

I think they really mean "if you don't get too hot". Here's some better information for you. http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancyhealth/hottubs.htm
