All I get is a message that "A network cable is unplugged" but its not, I have checked the cable with another PC, the port on the router, disabling / enabling the device, updating the driver, but nothing, I have also found an IP config command on the internet which says the port is working, and changed all the settings, if anyone can help It would be great, thanks

One simple thing that you have not checked, make sure the modem is on. If your modem or router is off or disconnected, you will also get that message.

YOU CHANGED ALL THE SETTINGS?? Great move that one.

First, recycle the power on your modem, router & PC according to your router manual. that's my bet for fixing it. Try to access the router configuration page. If you can do that, it's not the network card. If that fails,

Then try to ping the network card. If your pings comes back 100%, then your card is okay.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
