check out www.volition.com It has a listing of the various mytery shopping companies out there. You should never ever ever have to pay for this information.

I've done mystery shopping b4. And what u describe is correct.....all it is, is a little extra money. they don't pay mileage either. usually your just lookin at 15-20$ extra bucks per shop. and it's not too many assignments all at once that they give you either. so, maybe sign up for several co. for this type work to increase your chances of having more extra money.

I've done secret shopping in the disney store at the mall a couple of times, as well as a furniture store, and home depot a couple of times, and ruby tuesdays. usually w/a restaurant, they just reimburse you for your meal(s). but if you have a lot of free time, it can be worth it for fun!! It just won't make ya rich ;o)

You pick the shop so if it says no one but you can go on a certain shop - don't sign up for that one.
There are a number of good companies. But there are also companies that charge you to sign up - avoid those.
If you do a shop one month - you get paid the following month. Most of the companies require a PAYPAL account.

If you are interested in the companies I have dealt with email me. I will gladly give you their websites I won't give them on here in case someone thinks it is spamming.

I looked into it before and they want you to pay for a list of companies who may or may not hire you. The more you pay for your "shoppers package" the longer your list. no guarantee that you will be selected as a shopper though. Never understood the concept of having to pay for a job.
