The best way to do it is to go outside and ask someone to walk 50 bodylengths away from you. That'll be about 250-300 feet. Then yell to them to come back to you, but they have to get there as fast as they can.

Time them, tell the group how long it took.

Then say, "OK, now imagine how fast that person would be if they could make it in one second."
