Full term is 37 weeks so don't worry about it. My first one was born at 39 weeks, the second one at 37 and the third one at 36. The only thing that happened was the last one had to be in the infant nursury on oxygen for a couple days to finish building her lungs. She is 4 now and believe me, her lungs are just fine lol. If you go into labor before your appointment they will do a c-section if it is necessary. There is nothing you can or should do to prevent labor at 38 weeks. You will be a Mommy soon!! Best wishes for a healthy baby and an easy recovery!

I had a planned c-section at 38 weeks, 3 days. I made it even though I was having a lot of braxton-hicks contractions. When I went in the morning of my c-section they put me on the monitor and I had about 6 contractions in an hour--half of them I didn't even feel. I definitely know the feeling of "I'm going into labor any second" and then staying pregnant for many weeks more. You can't make sure that you won't go into labor naturally (it is called 'naturally' after all), but you can rest assured that if you do go into labor, they will just do the c-section at that time.

Well, you're at the point now where the baby will come when the baby wants to come. But labor (usually) isn't over quickly. You'll have time to contact your doctor if you feel contractions and he/she can determine then if they have time to do a c-section. If you're having it for med reasons, you need to let the nurses and doctor(s) know that if you go to the E/R or ob unit before your scheduled c-section. Good luck! I was miserable those last few weeks!

I totally do that all the time. Only for some reason i always get the corners of stuff and since it's sooo full and tight it hurts like someone stabbin me with a needle, but i never worry about it cause there my outer part of my stomach, my fat, the water, then the baby so unless i scratch it and it bleeds i'm not worried plus thats the babys butt if it's in the right position lol. Your gunna be fine, i'm doing fine your doing fine...I just want this baby out right now lol

It doesn't matter if you go into labour. In fact, it would be far healthier for the baby if you did go into labour. The hospital will just do a c-section when you get there if you go into labour sooner than the scheduled date for it. Not a big deal.

Just relax and put your feet up... if you go into labour it's okay. Your baby is considered full-term now, and will be very healthy.
