How do you tell the gender of a duck?

How can i find out if my duck is a boy or a girl without going to the vet?

There are several ways to tell if a duck is a female or a drake. They can be sexed by voice when their voice changes at 4 to 5 weeks old. Females have a loud quack which ducks are known for. Drakes, however, have a raspy quiet quack.

Depending on the breed and variety, drakes have different plumage than females.

Mostly drakes have curly tail feathers known as the Drake Feather......and female ducks have straight tail feathers.

Check out your particular breed of duck to be sure

find somebody else with a female duck put the two together and if their duck gets pregnant yours is a boy! As an added bonus the pregnant duck isnt yours!

depends what sort, but a lot of ducks on the base of the tail a female has 2 curled feathers and males do not.

If it starts laying eggs, it's a girl. I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but that's the only other way you can tell-unless of course you've got a dimorphic species-a species in which the males and females differ.
