Because for some odd reason we all have a way of becoming know-it-alls when it comes to other peoples lives and relationships!!

They see the potential in you and see that you can accomplish many things--so they tell you. They aren't really telling you what to do with your life--it's more like a suggestion from them--so you have lots of ideas on what to do and things to think about that you might consider.

I don't think "people" really think that.
I think "people" just sometimes want what's best for you so bad, that they try to influence you by saying things to you.
Only you can "do" something with your life.
You can hear what they say, but it doesn't mean you have to act on it, however, what I've learned over time, is that certain people that got on my nerves with their holier than thou advice, ACTUALLY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT!
Sometimes, we don't see the truth if it sticks us in the eye.

Like my Grandma always told me-honey I am going to tell you something and you may not like it but at least listen to me. If you choose to not take my advice then I want you to know I will support you in what you choose.- People can tell you what to do all they want but you make the final decision.
