Eos is my favorite and my personal patron. She is the Goddess of Dawn. She heralds her brother Helios(the sun)'s arrival. Aphrodite cursed her to lust after mortals and she seduced many (and is associated with a certain condition men tend to wake up in) but one who was her favorite was Tithonus whom she appealed to Zeus to make immortal but neglected to request that he be ever youthful. She lived with him until he was so old he could do nothing but jabber and then turned him into a cricket. Another was Orion, but you can find out how he ended up in the sky for yourself. She is also the mother of Eosophorus, the morning star, which is translated into the Latin as Lucifer, and the winds. Her parents are Hyperion and Thea and her brother is Helios the sun, her sister Selene the moon.

She wears a yellow gown and has great white wings. She is ever-youthful and some folks believe her image was borrowed for the idea of angels.

Well one must include Zeus as he was the Head of all the minor gods and goddesses. Though he had human flaws such as lust and vice. Then there's Hera, the left hand of Zeus, and gotta love her temper, of all minor gods and goddesses, she gets 100 points just for putting up with Zeus for Centuries and then I guess my favorite of their children would be Hades because he takes care of all the underworld and has gotten a bad rap as only taking care of the underbelly of the after life but remember he took care of both sides. Here's one of my favorite pages, I do love mythology. Greek more than Roman...this is a great site it doesn't overwhelm you with pages of each deity but a brief synopsis of each important one. Did you know that Zeus and Hera aren't the parents of all the minor gods? Chonus for example was Hades Father...but then we go back to the Titans who ruled before Zeus and the rest.

TTFN. Enjoy the website it is really concise and interesting.

Actually there is a story that involves three Greek Goddesses in one Story. The judgement of Paris. This myth involves Aphrodite, the goddess of love, hera, the wife of Zeus and the "queen of the gods" and Athena, the goddess of wisdom. It tells the story of the Goddess eris, the goddess of discord throwing the apple of of discord with the writing "to the Fairest" written on it. Naturally, the three goddesses thought that it belongs to her. They asked Zeus to pick who is the fairest, and Zeus, knowing better, assigned that Job to Paris, the son of King Priam, the king of Troy. All three goddess promised Paris something but in the end Paris awarded Aphrodite the apple because Aprhodite promised him the most beautiful woman in the world, Helen. Needless to say Helen was already betrothed to Menelaus, but with Aphrodite help, they escaped and went back to Troy. Because of this, the Trojan war started. This is the short form. I like Persephone... Mom and Dad are bro. and Sis. Dad tricked sis and killed his own Father.
Also, the figure of Persephone is well-known today. Her story has great emotional power: an innocent maiden, a mother's grief at the abduction, and the return of her daughter. It is also cited frequently as a paradigm of myths that explain natural processes, with the descent and return of the goddess bringing about the change of seasons.
