You car is fitted with an automatic choke and adjustment screws are provided for setting the cold start idle [about 1500rpm] and the hot idle [about 900rpm] but what usually happens is that the choke spindles and actuators start to seize due corrosion, dirt build up etc and don't allow the choke to open fully causing the engine to idle fast when hot, so before you start twiddling with mixture adjustments and idle screws use some carb clean then lubricate with wd40 or similar and give it time to soak in, it took almost 20years to get to this state so don't expect to fix it in 5mins

hmmmm... no offense but if you think you are going to adjust the idle rpm by fiddling with the choke you prob. should have a mechanic do it for you.

but, to answer your question, the choke is located on the carb, Look for the electric wire that leads the the choke coil.

good luck... a LOT of good luck ..no..wait.. even MORE .. you will need it.

choke is not the idle the idle is a screw near where the throttle cable meets the carb
