Well, typically, you would have to open up your computer's case, and pull out the existing graphics card, and insert a new card.

However, to just UPDATE your graphics card may not necessarily mean replacing it. You may want to update your video drivers by going to the manufacture's website (www.ati.com or www.nvidia.com) . Both NVidia and ATI frequently update their video drivers and should be checked often.

It is important, however, to know what graphics card you have. Assuming you have Windows XP, here's a simple way to check what card you have:

1. Right click on MY COMPUTER
2. Select PROPERTIES (this will open up a Systems Properties window)
3. Select the Device Manager button (opens up Device Manager)
4. Click the [+] next to Display Adapters.
5. See what kind of video drivers are loaded on your system.

If it says something like Radeon or GeForce, then just look up the terms on Google. Radeon is an ATI product, while GeForce is the NVidia product.

Hope this helps!

Right click your desktop and go to Properties. At the top, look for the Settings Tab. Click on the Advanced button. There should be a tab that tells you what graphic card you have (most common ones are Intel, ATI, nVidia). If you have ATI, go to ATI's website (below) and download their latest Catalyst driver. If you have nVidia, go to their website and download their latest ForceWare driver.
