Just like acting 100% male or 100% female, among other things, is rare. Humans are not made up of a total binary system in different areas, including gender. While many may try to act 100% heterosexual or 100% homosexual, they may not quite be like that. Don't even heterosexual men sometimes get turned on by another man, even if rarely and usually not intended? Same for women. I may lead mostly toward women, but it's not 100%. I'm sure not even bisexual people are totally 50/50, but possibly slightly leading more toward man or woman.

To bullwinkle - the reason for engaging in same sex behaviour is because that is what makes the individual happy and it's what they feel is correct. I'm not tr ying to speak on behalf of everyone who is homosexual or bisexual either. The entire world has procreated enough. We've already got to many mouths and not enough food to feed them all. How many true blue Christian people do you know go out and get married solely for the purpose of procreation and because they have a connection? If they did then there would be a heck of a lot more people on the planet. And one can't say that it's only the supposed 'whores' and 'sluts' of the world getting 'knocked up' because it happens to EVERY kind of woman from EVERY walk of life, INCLUDING Christianity. The difference is how each individual women handles it.

And to answer the ACTUAL question that was asked, I think that's the truth. I do believe that it's rare to find people that are either 100% straight or 100% gay. But I'm sure that you can find many people that fit in between those two extremes of sorts. And the bi ones are so greedy. Just kidding, but the bi people are just happy being who they are. They may also lean more towards one side than the other or they may just be smack dab in the middle.

I think it is rare for someone to be 100% one way or the other. For me though, I am 100% gay. Women turn me off sexually.

Being in the gay community, I would say that some people I thought were 100% gay are actually bi. I would say that most people are bisexual to some degree.

Bi people are not greedy. I am bi, and I am not attracted to a lot of people. I'm not usually attracted to anyone, but when I am sometimes it is a man and sometimes it is a women.

I do agree with the statement as I believe true love can come in all forms. You are attracted to whoever you are attracted to. just live life.

to the people who are saying "there is no bi" this is rude and misleading. Bi people are looked down upon from the gay and straight people, just because there are some straight girls out there pretending to be bi and ruining it for the ones who truely are.

Look, for a while people didnt believe Asexuality exists, and now there was a talk show on how it does exist and its rare.
Bisexuality is just being attracted to people you are attracted to, regardless of gender.

edit: the person below really insulted me. he cannot say there is no bi, just like I cannot say there is no gay. it exists. get used to it. just because slutty girls pretending to be bi for their boyfriends ruins it for the real ones.

to Ievianty: you are right, No bisexual does not mean you are 50/50, you usually have a preference for male or female but are still attracted to both sexes

This very question has been asked to justify all kinds of presumptions about human sexuality. It presumes that a person can be totally straight, meaning that for their entire lives the only person that they are intellectually, physically, emotionally and spiritually connected to are the opposite sex. What about people who do fit into that category but have fantasies that involve the same sex?

I do not think sexuality is on a line from A and B. I do not think human beings can be categorized starting from a (being one hundred percent straight and therefore never having the inclination to experiment with their sexuality or fantasies) to one hundred percent homosexual (see above).
Also I find it interesting that people presume that if a person isnt one hundred percent either way that they must be bisexual.
What about bi curious people? Or what about people who have fantasies about sex with more than one person, of either gender?
Where do these people fit in the one hundred percent categories?

The Kinsey Reports are two books on human sexual behavior, Sexual Behavior in the Human Male (1948) and Sexual Behavior in the Human Female (1953), by Dr. Alfred C. Kinsey, Wardell Pomeroy and others. The research astounded the general public and was immediately controversial and sensational. The findings caused shock and outrage, both because they challenged conventional beliefs about sexuality and because they discussed subjects that had previously been taboo.
Probably the most widely cited part of the Kinsey Reports regard the prevalence of different sexual orientations — especially to support a claim that 10% of the population are gay. In fact, the findings are not so straightforward, and Kinsey himself avoided and disapproved of using terms like homosexual or heterosexual to describe individuals, asserting that sexuality is prone to change over time, and that sexual behavior can be understood both as physical contact as well as purely psychic phenomena (desire, sexual attraction, fantasy).

Personally, I think that sexuality is not a staid part of human existance meaning that it is fluid and changes over time. Also, not every human being has to act on their fantasies and not all fantacies mean that a person has a one hundred percent sexual orientation or sexual identity.

Perhaps some people would prefer if people would be more controllable and therefore be categorizes and stamped on the forehead with a particular one hundred percent gay or straight but frankly human beings have this tendancy for freedom and liberation of choice. No matter how much a society tries to control people, there is always a strong resistance to being categorized and stamped like lab rats.
Human beings are individual creatures who are as intricate and miraculous as each unique child that is born. Why then, should there be the need to one hundred percent anything?

Yes i do think that its rare these days to find a 100% lesbian and a 100% gay man. Especially now when it seems to be such a fad to just "be gay" for a while & then switch back. Its ridiculous, disgusting and very misleading.

I will on speak as a guy since that is what I am. There IS no bi only individuals in a retarded emotional state. There are plenty of gay guys who are married to a woman and they are still 100% gay and going thru a motion. The downlow is GAY, not BI.

I believe it. I agree with the bell curve theory... there are some that are 100% gay and there are some that are 100% straight, but everyone else lies somewhere in between...

I think your question illuminates the heart of the Christian religious argument. To them, it doesn't matter if you're gay or straight. There's no reason to engage in same-sex behavior. To a religious Christian, sex is for procreation, not for fun or to stabilize relationships. To them, there's no reason why Elton John and Ellen Degeneres wouldn't make perfectly matched procreators. As for Bi, what's greedy mean?
