Did she give you a whole stick or tear the stick in half? My grandmother always carried Big Red gum in her purse but she only gave you a half a stick if you asked. I always thought that was odd but I wanted the gum so I didn't complain.

Well my mother NEVER let me chew gum....gum's not for ladies (yeah, heck of a lot of good that did me?!)...but my grandmother would indeed tear the stick in half. What was up with that?
My grandfather would give me the whole stick but my grandmother....oh no.
At least it was clean, though when she'd get the virgin piece out...it was the next time you'd ask for gum and get the other half, hard and with little bits of kleenex hanging to the torn end....

Wow, I remember that when I was a child. She would always have gum an I would always ask for it, haha. Good memories.

LOL yeah I got that as well, Why is that? What's wrong with having all of it, it's not like it's gonna kill us... That's never crossed my mind until now thanks I'm going to go see my grandmother 2day and confront her about it :)

she always gave me the money to go buy some, she didnt eat gum and tried not to let us eat it either.
But we won. bless her.

no but she had dentures so would give Freedent, and other nasty gum like that
