Wow. Bobby Orr is DEFINITELY the same caliber as these players...and he played D. Orr changed the way the game was played. Not even Gretzky did that; he was just good at the game how it was. Besides, Gretzky was protected in an age of goons. He wouldn't be NEARLY the same if he played in today's NHL. Crosby would outscore him bc he has just as much skill, not nearly the protection, and at least he can be physical. But there's no telling how many more records Orr would've broken if his career wasn't cut short by injury. And, unlike Gretzky, he played BOTH ends of the rink--which made him a better player in my book because he was helpful to his team no matter where the puck was on the ice. I think Gretzky was a skilled, talented player. I think Lemieux was way tougher than him, had amazing heart, was the gem of his team, and could've done amazingly great things (more so) if he was healthy and got to train like Gretsky and was protected and always dished the puck like Gretzky. Unfortunately we'll never know. But there's absolutely no way you can keep Orr out of this argument. To me, he'd win hands down.
