There are two kinds of Zombies: vodoun zombies and the walking dead. Vodoun zombies are those who have been infected by a poison made from the blowfish as described in the book called The Serpent and the Rainbow. These people are not clinically dead, they simply have been poisoned to a degree that society considers them dead. Walking dead are those who are clinically dead and then reanimate. This conditions takes place after an infection by the Solanum virus, which kills the human and reanimates it to have a limited capacity for motion and "thought."
